I installed Starship Titanic a couple days back, only to discover that the screen goes black for the player-is-moving blurs, the animations, and the movies. I look online for a solution, and follow the suggestion of copying the ICCVID.DLL file into the game folder, only...

It worked briefly. When I tried moving, the motion blur played, but for some reason the control pointer vanished, and I wasn't sure if I could move around at all. The weird bit came when I checked Windows Task Manager, thinking the game had frozen, and found that the program was apparently still running.

My system is Vista Home Premium 32-bit, and I'm still working with Service Pack 1.

Any ideas?

I remember running this on a true Windows 2K machine and it worked fine.

I'm pretty sure you have to use the compatibility mode of XP SP2 or earlier to make it work.

No matter where you go, there you are...

I tried different compatibility modes before - none of them worked, Windows 95 gave me a MEM_BAD_POINTER message, and Windows 98 gave me a "SmartHeap error handle recursively re-entered" message.
