I don't have this game but for games that I cannot figure out how to hack the installer I usually just load them up under a VM, install them there and then copy them over to the host.

Well I got the game and am having the problems in the linked thread. The game fails to install because of Direct X (Version 2). I tried editing my registry value to that of Direct X 2 but it didn't work. I installed it in Virtual Box 2007 and copied the installation folder over but it still won't run. I get these errors:

2The program has encountered some configuration problems.
3Please run the setup program

Do I have to copy over some registry values as well or what?
