Thee's a number of older games that won't play music on my pc, apparently because it's in the old Red Book format. I know sometimes Red Book will play if the cd is in the lowest letter drive, but sometimes that won't work...

Is there any universal fix or patch for this problem? Something that can let the music play normally while playing the games? Thanks

Redbook audio should work if you connect your CD drive's audio output to your soundcard's AUX or CD input.

This is not needed with modern drives. A SATA CD/DVD drive will send the CD audio signal without the extra cable.

Windows does that, not the drive.
