Hi,

Tried these games:
- Close Combat 1
- Heart of Darkness
- Outlaws
- (Ravage DCX) - to be tested

and they all have 'reverse stereo' - L <--> R output. Don't see any options to flip the speaker settings in game settings / winxp / audio driver (using fixed laptop speakers).

Playing cc1 avis in external movie player has swapped stereo too though.
Stereo works fine elsewhere - video watching, xp games, emulators.

Tried VPC2007 (w98) + Virtualbox (w2k + xp) but they gave same problem + very laggy audio or video. Dosbox w95 is too slow and crashy.

Is there any special driver / program that can adjust the speaker output? Or is it practical to write a 'dsound dll wrapper' to flip the bytes?

Thanks

and do you have games where the stereo isnt reversed ?
swap your speaker is the easiest solution
do the games themselves have a reverse stereo feature ?
in xp are your speakers setup as stereo and not 4 or 5.1 ?
(in control panel or the control panel for your soundcard/codec)

Yes. Many - Batman Arkham Asylum / City. Scribblenauts Unlimited. FEAR 1. Mass Effect 1-3. Dosbox. Prince of Persia 2008. Hitman Blood Money. Borderlands. (etc.)

swap your speaker is the easiest solution

Using built-in laptop speakers. Fixed hardware. Not swappable.

Already checked. No.

Only stereo speakers (no 5.1 setup). Not set to mono. Control panel for soundcard has no 'reverse stereo' option.

Thanks anyway. I may just bute-force hack the games to do reverse stereo.
