Hi all!
Yes I've never ever played the first HALF-LIFE!
I got a copy from eBay and want to play around with it on this machine:
- Socket 478 P4 machine
- P4 CPU (Got a wide range of CPUs from 1.4 GHz to 3.2 GHz)
- 256 or 512 MB
- Windows 98SE
- Geforce 4 MX 440 AGP card
- 3DFX Voodoo 2 SLI
- Vortex 2 Audio (Turtle Beach Montego II)
The game has nice logos for 3D accelerators and for A3D!
The readme file is very detailed and mentions interesting facts:
It appears my machine is much more powerful that it needs to be.
It also seems to use a mini OpenGL driver for Voodoo cards just like Quake (GLQuake).
I want to experience A3D and will be using headphones:

Some questions I have:
What about patches? What is the latest official patch. I found several, 1.1.1.1. and 1.1.1.2 but I don't know if this are official ones or fan made?
Should I play this game on a Geforce with Direct3D or Voodoo 2 SLI (or maybe a Voodoo 3) with miniOpenGL?
Does this game have a built-in benchmark / timedemo function?
I can select A3D and EAX in the audio options. Should I tick both?
