Is there a way to connect a share with 3.11 to winxp?
Is there a way to connect a share with 3.11 to winxp?
Do you mean you want Windows XP to browse a folder shared by Windows 3.11, or do you want Windows 3.11 to browse a folder shared by Windows XP?
Either way, enabling NetBIOS over TCP/IP in XP would be a good start.
The second step is - enable LAN Manager support in Xp. You can do this in Local Security Policy/Local Policies/Security/Network security: LAN Manager level.
Asus P4P800 SE/Pentium4 3.2E/2 Gb DDR400B,
Radeon HD3850 Agp (Sapphire), Catalyst 14.4 (XpProSp3).
Voodoo2 12 MB SLI, Win2k drivers 1.02.00 (XpProSp3).
I just want to transfer some large files to my dx2-66 easy way.
from xp to win311 or from win311 to xp doesn't matter.
Or is there anything like fastlinx that works in win311 etc.
I can imagine there is no remote desktop software for this.
Well, if you only need to transfer files, just get the mini SFTP server from http://www.coreftp.com/server/ and find an SFTP client for Windows 3.11. I'm sure there's one out there somewhere – otherwise, I think mTCP might work.
FTP is definitely the way to go for transferring files. You can install Filezilla FTP server on the XP machine and WS_FTP LE 5.06 (16 bit) on the win 3.11 side.
Win 3.11 has a built-in console FTP client BTW. If you'd rather use that here are all the commands supported.
mTCP 's FTP server is the solution to your problem JaNoZ 😀
That did the trick, mtcp is a nice tool.
Also thanks to Mau1wurf1977 for the youtube video, i needed it (got stuck on ftpsrv passwords and all)
