os is windows98 only, with the built-in bootmenu enabled.
i want to load emm386 when i choose "5.command prompt only" as some old games requires ems to run, but not when i choose "1.normal", is there anyway to do that in config.sys?
This is the Windows games forum. If you are having to mess with the config.sys then you must be talking about DOS games, not Windows games.

There shouldn't be anything wrong with loading EMM386 when Windows is running normally; it is specifically designed not to affect Windows. Do you have some reason to suspect that EMM386 is causing a problem?
grab easy bootdisk maker run it and copy the config.sys from it (edit to your needs)
