640x480 is... pretty small by today's standard. I'm using the Windows 95 version (non-accelerated) with the 1.1 patch on Windows 98 SE. I know the 3dfx version can be coaxed into higher resolutions, but I'd prefer software rendering.

My version of the game lacks the 3D accelerated or DOS versions.

That's too bad. There ain't much you can do then.

Your only chance at higher resolutions AFAIK are:

-DOS version - It can do 1024x768
-3Dfx version - It can do up to 800x600, perhaps you can force your own resolution through a Glide Wrapper
-S3 Virge version - It can do up to 800x600, but it's going to be insanely slow

You can perhaps convert your version to one of the 3D accelerated ones using the info from this thread.

Hope this helps!

Sweet! Thank you.

Just FWIW, my box version "for Windows 95 & 98" with CD "Designed for Windows 95" copyright 1995, seems to have the DOS version. (I'm examining it in Linux.) Does your CD not have MW2INFO.TXT ?

Yes, with nGlide I played in 1600x1200 (to maintain 4:3 ratio) on my 24" Dell IPS monitor.
