hello,
I am curious, are there any text to wav converters available for dos, windows 3.1, or windows95? I'm working on a series for my new childrens channel super tottler land and was going to create the opening sequence under one of those OS's just for the heck of it. I have my dos box already set up so I can easily transfer files between the dos/windows machine and my actual computer, which is good because I was going to start most of the series outside dosbox.
Could anyone find me a text to wav converter for either dos, win3.1 or win95?

The concept of text to wav doesn't make any sense without a clearly defined context.

. Are you looking for an application that will put a wav header on a ascii file so you can hear the kind of noise it'd make?

. Are you looking for a good ole' audio compiler?

. Are you looking for a text-to-speech application like "Talk It!" from Microsoft Plus! for Kids that also happens to have a wav output?

basicly what I'm looking for is something that is a tts program that can output to wav files. there are several such programs for current versions of windows, but finding one that works under dos, win 3.1 or win95 has been a bitch. In my google searching I didn't find anything, anything I probably found led to a dead link or something worse.

thanks, I didn't think that program was available anymore, it hasn't been updated since 2002 I think and it never got sapi5 support. that's ok here because sapi5 doesn't work in win95 and there are some older synths that only ever supported sapi4, such as text assist 2.x (not related to the creative labs program of the same name, apart from being included with newer sound blaster cards).

OK, I did manage to find some tts programs, but they didn't have the ability to convert to wav as far as I know. then again, the age of some of those shareware cds ment that the guys responsible for those cds had to conform to the 8.3 filename limit.
