Hello,
My problem is similar to the one mentioned here Need For Speed Porsche 2000/Unleashed and Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2 no go on my PC,
in that every time I start the game it flickers, then crashes with the following message:

System is an Alienware M17X R3
Win 7 Home Premium 64bit
Geforce GTX 680m
Intel i7-2670M @2.2 GHz
8 GB Ram
OS is on 120GB Kingston SSD,
Everything else on 1TB HDD

The solution mentioned in the other thread doesn't work for me, I also tried the patched version of the game and different .exe files and ntdll.dll files (even though it only happens with this game). Installing it on C/D drives didn't change anything either. 😒
Also tried different drivers and compatibility mode with XP and "launch as admin".

That thread suggests a solution and I'm not clear on how much in depth you went in on that. So do this:
http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/F.E.A.R.#Method_1

Ignore that it says that it's for F.E.A.R and that it's about a framerate problem, just follow the instructions.
