Try this:

http://kentie.net/article/dxguide/

or failing that, try this:

http://coding.hanfling.de/launch/

and for more information, see:

http://www.pcgamer.com/how-to-run-deus-ex-on-windows-78/

and

I hope that helps. By the way, if you've never played Deus Ex before, then play it vanilla (i.e. don't install any of the fan-made mods such as graphical updates, or new missions), as it was when it was released. Then when you want to play it again, play it with Shifter (http://www.moddb.com/mods/shifter1), which is a mod that changes some of the gameplay and add some new stuff. Then play it with GMDX (v9 is due out in a month or two - http://www.moddb.com/mods/gmdx), which is basically Shifter but a lot more so (it's my favourite Deus Ex mod). You will want to play Deus Ex repeatedly, and these two mods improve the game (vanilla DX is great, DX + Shifter is really great, and DX + GMDX is utterly fantastic).

There are also mods that add new missions, and some that improve the graphics, but one I didn't like was Revision, which a lot of people say is fantastic, but lots of other people (myself included) think actually manages to worsen the game in some aspects. Not terrible, but I wouldn't play it again.

Deus Ex is still my favourite ever game, more than fifteen years since I first played it.

Kerr those links are for Deus Ex

Sorry sorry sorry. That's what happens when an idiot skims a web page instead of actually doing the work he's (badly!) paid to do. In my defence, I get bored very easily...

Anyway, I hope you enjoy Deus Ex 2. Lots of people really hate it, since it's so inferior to (the fantastic) first game, but if you play Deus Ex 2 on it's own merits, and try and forget that it's a sequel to the stellar Deus Ex, then it's a good game. I played it on the XBox though, I could never get the PC version to work reliably, as far as I can recall, that and Project Snowblind were the only two PC games I could never get running well.
