The Sims: Hot Date works normally but House Party crash (Not responding) when i click on house. Is there any fix?

Have you tried settings Windows XP compatibility mode?

Yep, had the same problem and when I tried compatibility mode it worked. On a side note, does anybody have experience with playing the Sims on Linux? I was reading some random article about the benefits of Linux and I was curious if anyone has tried it? I know that most games and applications can work on all operating systems, however some only work on Windows.

If you meant by running Windows applications on Linux through Wine, most older programs should work fine, but by and large it's a hit-or-miss affair. TS1 sort of works on Linux, but character models and interactions don't work for some reason.
