Need for Speed 2 SE Multiplayer

When I setup and click Game Setup, and then game type, and switch to Network. After click connect, it says 'No services found'. What does this mean?

You can play only on LAN. When you have more computers/players on LAN, one creates server and others can join and play multiplayer. It's like forever when I last played NFS on LAN and I'm not sure if it uses TCP/IP or IPX protocol.

I and my school buddies played NFS2 SE along with a few other titles via hyper-terminal connection (modem) back in the days.

In the modern times, I think your best bet is to create a private network with hamachi or something similar. I expect you can run into a lot of issues if trying to set it up on an old PC/OS or running a game inside some emulator, probably an XP+ machine with internet connection will work. Once this sort of LAN is established, one of you just creates a server inside the game, so the others can see it and will be able to join.

Of course, you could just invite your friends to your home and ask them to bring along their computers , then you can hook up the machines directly.
