Just a quick update, I haven't updated in this thread for quite a time. I am seeing all the posts here and will update lists as fast as possible.

I have been busy on my personal work and trying to get MW2(PE) to work, but with much better stability. Don't worry, thread isn't dead.

I have added the ones which were mentioned here, and overall 160 games have been added. More will be on the way, I hope they work for most users.

Heart of Darkness runs without any modifications or DX / DDraw wrappers. I testet it on Win 7, 8 and 10

Thanks. They have been added. Please refer to the original post for a spreadsheet where you can insert them yourself. There are some rules in the spreadsheet as well and some more details you need to fill in, for now those will be empty.

Does the list take into account broken copy protection? since SafeDisc and SecuROM were disabled, in a security patch.

Nice question. I had tried to use custom patches to re-enable SafeDisc but failed in the attempt. The alternative was to use no-CD's, whose links' haven't been included in the list for definite reasons.

I have been slowly adding games to the list, but as for some update, I have made a DxWnd repository containing my tested profiles for games:

Word Munchers Deluxe works on Windows 11. After copying the game data files (*.snd, *.pic, Wmuncher.mms, and Wmuncher.exe) to the hard drive, the game can be played without the CD. I found no issues.
It does use WinG, so you need to have WING32.dll (included on the game CD) in your WINDOWS\SysWOW64 directory.

The Windows 95 version of The Oregon Trail works on Windows 11. From the CD, copy the OTWIN32 directory to the hard drive. You can now play the game without the CD. The only thing that doesn't work is the day-to-night effect (as it uses palette cycling, which only works in 256-color mode). Other than that, I found no issues.

I'll be testing more MECC games down the line.

Math Munchers Deluxe works on Windows 11 without issue. As with Word Munchers Deluxe, copying the game data files (*.snd, *.pic, Muncher.mms, and Muncher.exe) to the hard drive allows playing without the CD. I found no issues here either.

Math Rabbit Deluxe version 2.0 runs on Windows 11. Just copy the MRWINCD directory to the hard drive. The only issue I found is that the game complains about not being able to find the music and sound drivers. This notice can be disabled and ignored, as sound works just fine.

Got Amazon Trail II from eBay, and Amazon Trail 3rd Edition from Selectsoft. Just copy the DATA folder to your hard drive in both cases, and rename the folder to the game name.
II specifically requires QuickTime 2.1.2. However, 3rd Edition, which appears to be just an enhanced re-release of II, uses QuickTime 3, and thus newer versions will work with it.

Has anyone tried to fix Battlezone on win10?

1.5 has scaling menu scaling issues

If I recall correctly, 1.5 is an unofficial version, so it might be difficult to get to work. Note that older versions work fine, so you might consider that instead. There are some text problems, I think I have a solution and I will check it out later.

Some updates:

Many games were tested for the CDaudio and instructions have been changed to emulate the WINMM MCI most perfectly using DxWnd. DxWnd also has enabled some games which used to access the video BIOS directly, to run on modern environments. Some games were also fixed to be run using dgVoodoo2

They can be re-enabled from the registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\secdrv
Even fixed .exes might require SafeDisc/SecuROM to be enabled.

I see multiple settings there. Which one do I need to change?

Mine is set with Start (REG_DWORD) = 0x00000003 (3).
