I need help, as I do not understand the behavior that presents itself in front of my eyes, somewhat strange! I bought a CF-IDE40 Converter Card Module adapter with a 32GB Compact Flash CF.

Once the components and windows 95C were installed on my IBM 330 6577 machine, I enabled DMA. However I noticed something strange, windows seemed slow to start up and shut down, like applications to start up. In fact, the Compact Flash CF is slower than the mechanical disc!

The Compact Flash sees it as compatible and has allowed me to enable DMA.

So I did some tests, these are the results:

I took a look at the bios and found DMA resources. Only in Channel 2 there is System Resources, for everything else there is only the wording available.

Why this problem?

because your adapter was designed for XT pc's and limited in support for DMA you need a smaller card to boot but have it running as non boot drive
there needs to be interest shown to the manufacturers of these adapters they do have a sata version though.

I am not a great expert. I didn't understand very well what you said to me. Could you explain it better?
That is in my PC, if I want to take advantage of the speed of my Compact Flash CF what should I do?

Maybe I need to modify the jumpers? Or does it have nothing to do with it?
