we have AC97 drivers for Windows 9X\ME.... and works on my laptop, when i install Windows 98SE.
but is there a version compatible with Windows XP?
i don't know get the chip ID.

Doubt it and I don't even think it's possible…

I'm not sure I understand the point of AC97 & HDAudio (please explain!) when you need codec-specific drivers anyway, but even when you do have them (and some OSes go a long way here), you still get the fun of "pins", ie the mapping of physical I/O channels on the codec chip to "front headphone socket, light green" and the like - for which there generally are defaults but if every mobo manufacturer cared… 😁 🙁

BEEN_Nath_58 the driver is installed, but with '!'.... theres no sound. error number 10.
the driver ID is PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_266E&SUBSYS_00661025&REV_04\3&B1BFB68&0&F2
i don't know it's chip... but i'm trying get the right driver (compatible with Sound Blaster) 🙁
