I can't install drivers for my soundblaster live 5.1. Sound card gets stuck on screen everytime saying new hardware found creative emu10k1 audio processor but won't continue. its been frozen on this screen for 30 minutes and every other time I tried same thing I have tried using windows 98 and nothing changes any help would be appreciated
What driver are you using?
I found an iso for the Dell version for Windows it a Dell oem model

Could the sound card be damaged or in need of a capacitor replacement i was thinking of buying another one but if that's not the case and I have the same issue it would be a waste of money I dont have another pc to test it on

The only time I have issues with installing drivers for sound blaster is when I dont have the exact driver it likes. I recently installed a SB Live on my pentium 3 and I was using the wrong driver and it did the same freezing during installation.
Does the card work under dos?

Yes it does. ( I have been using a Live 5.1 card since I bought it in the 90s or early 2000s andit does work in dos
Alright I just downloaded 5 different drivers and see if any work since the one for my model wasn't

I tried the install cd and 5 different drivers 3 of which people say work with the model i have tried to do a full re install with no gpu or anything else just sound card drivers no dice just freezes and has an error in driver menu saying code 11
Just bought another of the exact same model that said cleaned and tested so if it doesn't work it won't work on my system if it works then there's a problem with mine and I have something to go off

It a slot 1 440bx motherboard with 550 mhz pentium 3 and ati rage 128 pro gpu
