This is win98, Dx8.1, 3dfx drivers 1.05 (I think) on a P3 450 voodoo 3. It's fine in the menus but tanks as soon as I start a mission.
Running it under d3d it's fine, should I backtrack to Dx7 or try the latest voodoo drivers?

I personally had stability issues with DX8 on Voodoo3. Had to get a complete system reinstall to get things in place again , with DX7.1

Tried to backtrack to DX7a but it's still crashing to the left black window.

Noticed also other games showing some lag like: Unreal 39fps, glquake 71 fps, 3dmark 2000 score 1900ish.
Something is up here, may make a separate post but a drive wipe may be necessary.

Thanks but already patched it . I'm going to try to install it on my winXP system just to test.
