Ok, first of all sorry if any of this is something that's common knowlegde - me somewhat new(read: clueless) to this... 😊
Did some searching on this board, but either wrong words or there's no info available.
I have a few ISA soundcards that obviously are not pnp, and when starting up win98 these cards are nowhere to be found.
(not sure if they actually work, but let's assume they do)
Granted, both autoexec.bat and config.sys are empty....
But what should I put there if this is not a Soundblaster card ?
There's of course those 'set blaster', 'set midi', and 'set sound' commands, which I have in another PC/files, but these require some sort of program/drivers, right ?
FYI:
- cards are properly set with the correct jumpers, I even reserved IRQ5 in bios, and ticked non-pnp OS there.
If it helps, one card is the 8-bit Roland SCC-1.... 😁
(I don't have any specific drivers for this card)
There are some files on this page:
http://personal.inet.fi/peli/militarist/scc1-e.html
But not sure which ones to use (inside "Roland SCC-1B Utility disk" ?) or how....
And I also found this info:
http://www.borg.com/~jglatt/tutr/win95.htm#w4
http://216.239.59.104/search?q=cache:EP8qWy5n … no&ct=clnk&cd=9
But, I only tried with one card at a time, and nothing is found.
I tried installing some mpu401 driver/inf i found on the net, but still nothing... (no card, no sound device showing, and no sound)
The other card is the Soundblaster CT1750.
Maybe one of these files could be usable for something ?:

Anyway, as of now, there are NO sound devices showing in my device manager... (haven't tried to remove any earlier drivers though, was previously working fine with a now removed SB AWE64 Gold)

OK, so I'm most likely missing some very obvious part/step here, but hopefully some of you guys can lend a helping hand ?
- A short step-by-step install guide would be perfect.... 😎
