In the 2nd 486 PC, an old Compaq Deskpro 466 (yuck) I've put in a Soundblaster Pro 2 (CT1600) and my Roland SCC-1 and connected the output from the Roland into the LINE IN on my Soundblaster but I get ny sound from the Roland thru my SB....is it because the SB lacks any mixer or do I need some mixer software like the SB16 has?
Have tried to find some info about this card but it's hard to find info about olders cards that the SB16 😜

Also...does anyone have the original SB pro 2 install floppy's? seems like you can only find the Plan SB Pro disks on the net and the updated drivers

Er, yes. What you need is a mixer software, and just like the one in SB16, it is DOS-based. Now I don't quite remember what's the name it is, but IIRC it was SBMIXER or such.

I think I still have SBPRO installation disks somewhere, but I think it belongs to the original SB Pro (the one with the black box instead of the usual Creative's white and orange color scheme); can't SB Pro 1 mixer work with SB Pro 2?

Never thought this thread would be that long, but now, for something different.....

Have the original SB Pro 1 disks too, I'm gonns try that the mixer from those disks or the Master Mixer software

I'm using some SB Pro drivers I found on driverguide.com but not sure if it's for the SB Pro 2 and it didn't includee any mixer software

I got it working, after I first started the SBPro mixer which was in the SBPRO folder on my bootpartition in the root and set everything like CD, Line In etc so levels it suddenly works...maybe it "woke up" my card , 🤣

I did the same but I still have line in muted 🙁

I am trying to run both AWE32 and SP pro2 in the same machine, but I rly have difficulties 😒 How do you set BLASTER variables in autoexec and config.sys for two creative SB cards?

Edit: I did it, but only from windows DOS 7.0. Cant get it to work under DOS 6.0 though.
