I want to get Warlords III: Darklords Rising running in DosBox, and naturally since it's actually a Win9X game, this requires me to install Win98SE. I've already gotten that taken care of and it works fine for the most part, but now I need to find a version of Daemon Tools or something to run the image I've created, as I can't use my actual disc in DosBox while Win98 is running. I've tried installing Daemon Tools 3.47, but it insists that I need Windows Installer 2.0, which I cannot find.

Before anyone asks, I do actually own physical copies of Windows 98 SE and Warlords III: DLR.

Also, I know that Warlords III runs fine on XP and even 7 with some tweaks, but I want to set it up so that I can run it on any of my machines with CD audio and the original mouse cursors.

That is the 'Windows Installer 2.0' for win98 if you're wondering... 😁

Well, I got Warlords to install, but there's absolutely no ingame audio, and as soon as a map loads, it hard locks. 😜 Guess I'll try my luck with Bochs or Virtualbox.

EDIT: I decided to try VirtualPC 2007, and it works a LOT better. Granted, it isn't as fast as I'd like, and the audio can be somewhat staticky at times, but it works.

EDIT2: I'm using VMWare player now, and it's much much much better. 😁 My only real complaints are that I had to hunt down an audio driver for it (turns out it uses Soundblaster PCI 128 drivers 🤣), and the boot time is a bit slow. Other than that, it works wonderfully!
