Is it possible to conver AdLib songs to MIDI songs, so that we could use various soundfonts and get different outcome?
I know both AdLib and MIDI are just code, it's not really music. But can it be done?
There is a tool to convert .DRO files to .MID files, so basically you can run a game in DosBox that plays Adlib music, capture the played data to .DRO file and convert to .MID file.
Is this what you are trying to do? I don't know how well it will work, but at least it should be possible.
Yes, that is exactly what I had in mind. I can't repack the old games using AdLib music of course but I can use them in my Doom WADs, since G/ZDoom supports Fluidsynth also.
