Is it possible to add CD-ROM booting to my Compaq Deskpro 386 emulated machine?

I've tried using a IPXE BIOS ROM(can't compile it due to compiler errors on some .S assembly file) compiling it myself.
I've also tried the prebuilt BIOS ROM file, but the Compaq Deskpro 386 BIOS gives a I/O ROM error when trying to use that one?

Anyone knows a BIOS I can use for booting CD-ROMs using the El Torito standard on a Compaq Deskpro 386(the flash chips are Atmel 28C64(B) chips).

I've already successfully booted using the PLOP boot manager(Booting from CD-ROM on Compaq Deskpro 386 (emulation)?), but when using that it won't see the XT-IDE hard drive anymore?
