A little off-topic but I am in a mood to post this. Many (12) years ago I wrote this implementation of Conway's Life game. I've started it in Turbo C but ended up rewriting the entire thing in 386 assembly. Found it a few years later, fixed a few bugs and forgot about it. Just found it again and decided that some people may still enjoy it.
It runs in rarely used black-and-white mode but it works perfectly under DOSBox. It is pretty fast (IIRC, used less than 10 CPU clock per cell with complete visualisation on 486/33). There is small readme file but the interface if intuitive in any case. It uses both mouse buttons, left to place/remove cells, right to place "markers."
Enjoy!
