hi.. i have a problem with my Yamaha FB-01
if i start a game in dosbox.. for example Colonels Bequest.. with FB-01 support.. i get this on the FB-01 display "DUMP/ERROR !!!"
but with VDMSOUND i get something else... First this dump error.. and then "DUMP/RECEIVED !!!" but in the intro tune i miss the drum sounds 😕
i use a YAMAHA UX-16 USB->MIDI adaptor, how to fix this??
plz help me..

ps.. sorry for my bad english, i hope its NOT bad at all 🤣 😜

In DOSBox, the MPU-401 emulation must be turned on and the mode set to intelligent. I don't know whether VDMSound emulates an intelligent MPU-401 midi interface, but I assume it does not. In that case, you can find a patch that will allow you to use a Sound Blaster midi interface, which VDMSound support (as does DOSBox.)

ok, changed it to INTELLIGENT mode..
but i still get this message "dump/error !!!"
but it sends most of the sysex data to the module....
is there something else??

nope, still the same message.. 🙁
the only game with mostly the correct instruments is space quest 3..
but the sound effects are missing..

It sounds like the Yamaha USB midi interface might be having a problem sending all the sysex to the device. You might want to try asking on the Quest Studios forum, they may be able to assist you further.
