hello dear dosfriends 😀

i have got a problem with my yamaha db-50xg wavetable (on a sb16 ct2290)

the wavetable seems to be in the wrong modus.
a example: in day of the tentacle, just at the beginning, first room, where the clock is. instead of a "tick-tack" it makes a piano sound.

another game... start trail2 (dsa2 sternenschweif) at the beginning in the tempel, there is also a bothering "piano", where another instrument should appear.

if i do a gm-reset (general midi) everything is ok. then all sounds appear right.
same if i first play doom. (doom seems to start a gm-reset)

is there a way to put the wavetable permanent in the gm-mode?
i dont want to play every time first doom, to hear the propper sounds in day of the tentacle or startrail2.

greets out 😉

I use one and never experienced your problem... db50xg is always in GM mode, unless ti receives XG data from a midi/player AFAIK... tried it on another soundblaster? maybe the one u have doesn't work well together...

strange.... ive tried allready another sb16..... same result.

i think for some reason, the daughterboard is allways in xg mode..
as i allready said.. if i first play doom, and then day of the tentacle, the sounds are proper. if i do a reset on the pc and i play day of the tentacle, without playing doom before, the sounds are wrong.

aaargh.... im getting crazy about that..

would you do me a favor please? (if you have day of the tentacle).
just go to the first room, and listen if the is a tick-tack (the big clock)

thank you.
