I have a SB AWE 64 PnP (ISA) and a Roland SC55 and I want to set up general midi playback to be played through the SC55. I have the game port->Midi cable and the RCA->Mini jack cable so I am good to go as far as hookup.

Do I just connect the game port->midi cable to the SC55 and the RCA->Mini jack from the SC55 to the line-in to the SB card and I am good to go? Are there any dos drivers or special configurations I need to get this to work? What about windows 3.1? How do I get it to work with that?

Haven't got access to my Retro PC at the moment, but in a nutshell you need to initialise the card and tell it to use the external midi port rather than the internal wavetable...

I have a similar setup to yours now.

What is important is that you use CTCU to tell the card to move the midi address to something other than 330. I use 330 for mine and 330 is for my Roland MPU401 card.
