I am considering an ASUS mobo that has an onboad midi port. In the mobo's bios, you can set the port's paramter to 300 or 330 (or disable it). I've been over the manual and there are no other details.
I intend to use the midi port under pure DOS to connect to MT-32 / GM external synth modules.
Since this mobo lacks an ISA slot, and I want the option of using an SB compatible PCI card that may not support midi out in pure DOS, are onboard midi ports generally easy things to get working in DOS, or are they driver dependent (mobo only has INFs for windows)?
Is it just a case of including a line in the config or autoexec?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
