ok,.ok, this topic has already been discussed.
but I need confirmation (or suggestions).
i have a roland SCD-15 doughterboard card.
for now I use it on a sb16 with hanging notes problem and with no true opl-3 chip.
to improve the situation, i'm thinking of trying another sound card.
SB clones can be a solution, but i prefer o true SB card (because i use GM for music, but also i would use FM music).
I use for DOS-game PC, and SB are best for compatibility.
the best choice is SB AWE32.
The models CT2760, CT3900, CT3980 have DSP 4.13 but no hanging notes, and have true OPL-3 chip.
is the right choice?
do you have better experiences with other sound cards?

Well "best" is always very subjective.

for me the "best" card would be the Roland MPU401AT. It has the wavetable connector, but also an external interface for MT-32 and Sound Canvas and compatible devices.

Specific for your situation, some user simply use two sound cards. You see the hanging note problem only occurs if you have midi AND digital sound enabled. Try it. Play the game with digital sound disabled and the music should play fine.

The trick is to configure both cards so they don't conflict.
