If you happen to know where to find the latest drivers for this card, please help.
Maybe I need DOS drivers only (if Win98 has native support for the card but I have doubts about that... I have not checked it yet, though)

For DOS a Set blaster line should work well enough, some OEM ESS drivers forget about doing the SET BLASTER part of the autoexec.bat
You can find some drivers here, I hope they are suitable for all ESS 1688F based cards: Terratec FTP

But I suppose it has proprietary drivers as well - I have seen ESS drivers for sale 🤐 like DOS, WIN95, DMA emulation driver (????) for ESS 1868 and other models so I suppose these older 1688F cards also have these...?
I would rather not pay for it if possible.
