This system will not work with a NIC and the MX300. I've tried all combos. Any suggestions? I'm going to start shopping around for a USB NIC that supports Windows 98. Weeee!

What NIC is it

I tried both a Kingston KNE111TX and a Rosewell RC-400 both with the same results.

Kingston KNE111TX = Linksys LNE100TX Chipset there very carp device any way I had to min problem with them in past rigth along with D-link
Rosewell RC-400 it should work but it maybe to new for that motherboard
Look for older Realtek RTL8039 or RTL8139 chipset, 3Com, Intel
By the I hope your unplug the Power to that motherboard I hear the 3.3v is alway on, on that board.
But if ask me I get Intel chipset Motherboard there more soild then VIA and ALi and SiS

I will look around for an older NIC to see if that works.

I ended up just ordering a D-Link USB NIC that has Win98SE drivers. I will let every one know how it works when I get it in. I am also going to try a PCI Intel PRO/100 and see if that works. My friend is also going to give me an old ISA NIC.
