I've just about racked my brains out trying to find some specific information. I was given an old DCS s817 PCI card with a YMF724E-V chipset. It has a SB-Link (PC/PCI) connector on it and my GA-6BXD also has the connector on board. I've sacrificed some old CD-Audio ribbons to get the 5 cables I need and I've also looked at pinout documents.

For the sound card it's:
Pin 1 = GTNA#
Pin 2 = Ground
Pin 3 = No Connect
Pin 4 = REQA#
Pin 5 = Ground
Pin 6 = SERIRQ#

For the GA-6BXD it's:
Pin 1 = Signal
Pin 2 = GND
Pin 3 = NC
Pin 4 = Signal
Pin 5 = GND
Pin 6 = Signal

From the Yamaha datasheet, I see SERIRQ# is an I/O so that means pins 2, 5, & 6 should be direct connects. The datasheet says REQA# is an output and GNTA# is an input. Would that mean that I connect Pin 1 on the soundcard to pin 4 on the motherboard (same for 4 and 1) or would the 440BX chipset already compensate for that and I just connect pin 1 on the card to pin 1 on the motherboard? I wished they wouldn't have used "Signal" in such a generic way.
