I asked about this a while ago, but there was no response, so I thought I'd try a new thread.

The DOS mixer utility for Sound Blaster Live! cards has a little check box marked "MT32". What exactly is it supposed to do? And why wouldn't it do anything for Monkey Island 2?

Perhaps cganges the uart mode or what's it called (which you can set in dosbox as well) when you have a mt32 connected

I would assume it activates Creative's MT-32 emulation. I would not expect much with Monkey Island 2, which uses custom instruments.
