Another Newbie, downloaded Dosbox0.61-win32-installer
but can't open file.
ERROR Message: The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal
instruction. CS:Odae IP:0119 OP: 65 63 74 20 61

Memory: 510MB RAM

Card name: NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440
Display Memory: 64.0 MB
Monitor: hp pavilion mx50
Creative Sound Blaster PCI

NOTE: On first download it unzipped OK but there was no
dosbox.exe file so was unable to install and winxp was unable
to open any files, including the text files.. Deleted and
redown loaded and now can't open or unzip the file.

Check the file you downloaded. Is it really the installer? Somebody reported here similar problems then finding out that in reality it was an HTML file .... The attempt to run it lead of course to crash.

After you run the file, installer starts. No need to unzip anything. It is EXE file.
