I got a Samsung S8 and I would like to play my favorite old games now that I got a very powerful phone.

I downloaded "aFreeBox" which I asume is some sort of DosBox clone (it popped up first on Google Store when I searched for "dosbox" but it kinda sucks. I can't seem to figure out how to put the tactile display controls on the screen to strafe, shoot, jump etc. The performance is pretty poor too. I heard DosBox Turbo plays smooth.

I was wondering: With DosBox Turbo, can I put a button that will fire + aim at the same time? because it's the only way to make FPS playable on touchscreens.

For instance the Doom port by Beloko plays really nice on my screen, because it has a very smart design to shoot: You press the shoot button, and you can aim as you keep shooting, while you lock in your crosshair on an enemy, you can also strafe with your left thumb to dodge enemy fire.

Beloko was making a port for Duke 3D but got a cease and desist letter so it will never be released. There was a port back then for Android, but it sucked, the controls were really bad. So im only left with DosBox, hoping that it can be setup so one can fire + aim at the same time.

To see what the hell im talking about in action please see this video of the unreleased Beloko Duke port:

As you see it plays pretty nice. Notice on the right, how you can fire, keep firing and keep aiming at the same time.

Now compare this to the old Android port (which is also no longer on Google Store anyway) and the Dos emulated gameplay i've seen:

As you see, these suck, mostly because you can't fire + aim at the same time, the fire action is isolated in a button. This is the missing link to get a good experience playing FPS in phones.

If we could get that setup on DosBox, then we could enjoy our favorite old games. Granted, we would be stuck at 4:3, but at least it would be enjoyable, and with a powerful phone it should be smooth.

Please let me know if it's worth it for me to buy DosBox Turbo or the controls will suck for FPS on a phone so I will not bother.

Here is an explaination image in case it's not clear yet what im talking about:

We don't support DOSBox Turbo here. Use a laptop and use DOSBox for free.

I want to play on the phone.I thought this forum included the Android ports.

PS: I found out Magic DosBox has a lot of options so I will see how that one goes.
