I was wondering about ways to emulate deluxe paint. On one hand you can use dosbox and run the port deluxe paint animation or deluxe paint 2. On the other hand you can use an amiga emulator (let say winuae) and run the original deluxe paint 5. For someone making pixel art images what are your thought about each way to use the software. Also I'm aware there is many software that are perfect clone and modern that does the same, but I want to scope it to that very specific software, thank you very much.

you answered your own question. dp2/dpa in dosbox or dp in euae. otherwise you just run stuff like grafx2 on linux or windows or buy cosmigo promotion.

do you imply winaue mouse precision is better ? because mouse often goes crazy to say the least. Also I'm not sure about using Deluxe Paint with tablet computing

There's huge mouse input problems when it comes to mouse precision in dosbox with dpaint. You also can't tablet it

I resolved this by setting DosBox's sensitivity option to 1, which normally defaults to 100. Obviously you'd be using the pen as a mouse, so forget about pressure detection or any other fancy feature, but it gets the job done.
