I've just found this (http://homepage2.nifty.com/ans/index.htm if you can read japanese).

It's a japanese x86 emulator. I don't have much time to test it atm (exams in three weeks), and it seems to require japanese editions of Windows.

Good luck for those who'll try to pull something out of it 😀.

Gah. Japanese. It wouldn't be nearly as bad if they didn't use Chinese characters...*sigh* I'm not even gonna get into it.

Windows 2000 and Windows XP have "Japanese" regional functions in them, so you don't need JWindows. One of the things that drives me completely INSANE about the Japanese character code is that "\" (backslash) is replaced with "¥". Otherwise I'd run in it all the time (oh yeah, and it causes some programs to crash for whatever reason 😜).
*cough* I'm done.

Yes, it’s my fault.

I think that's a NEC PC 9801 emulator, probably only sold in Japan, and I don't read Japanese.

It is indeed a PC98 emulator.

It has been around for a while. Other than conversions, it has mostly RPGs and Hentai games. I would guess the system was quite popular in Japan since it seems most of the pre-CD-era Hentai PC games were originally PC98 games (e.g. Knights of Xentar).

A quick google search turned up this page with game screenshots: http://fullmotionvideo.free.fr/pc98.html.

Don't panic.
