Hi all, I was able to get some games running on my windows 2000 machine from VMware Workstation 17 but unfortunately these games run at too high frame rate, many solutions which will work for windows xp don't work on windows 2000, any ideas about it?
In VirtualBox you can set an "execution cap" which limits how much host CPU time is used emulating the virtual CPU. It's not very precise like a frame limiter, and if you later got a faster CPU you'd have to adjust it, but perhaps it could still help. I'm not sure if there is something similar in VMware Workstation though. If not, perhaps you can use a utility on the host to limit how much CPU time VMware is allowed to use, like the cpulimit tool on Linux.
