I'd like to thank all the members of this forum who tested RReady and provided feedback.

Thanks to your efforts and the resources on this forum, RReady is live on the Windows store:

https://apps.microsoft.com/store/detail/rread … A9/9NRCQJ8VLGTK

- with support for RRedline 2.0 only at this moment
- This is functionally identical to the last alpha on the first page of the RReady thread, except :
--The Alpha text/watermark is not there
-- The launcher doesn't auto-download anything (demos/additional components for games). This is because of the Windows store's rules on bundleware.
-- A help button is included which opens a PDF file with download links to everything. (This will be available in the next alpha).
-- The visual C++ runtime libraries are statically linked. This means the launcher and the two dlls will be will double in size. The installation size doubles from 3.x MB to a little under 7 MB.
This is also because of store rules on additional components. The next alpha will also have this. It should functionally be identical.
-- The help document briefly how to setup each game, but doesn't have detailed instructions. It mentions the use of dgVoodoo (for DirectDraw support) and DxWnd, but does not include them.

Unforunately this is listed under the entertainment category, because I wasn't sure it'd be allowed in the Games section (not being a game).

Support for F1 '97 and Speedy3D is next.

Once again thanks a lot guys.

[EDIT 22 September 2023]
- Alpha update live on store.

[EDIT 23 September 2023]
The Team Apache fix (automatic single/multi-threaded affinity toggle) isn't live yet, but will be after being tested.

Are you planning to put it on Steam as well? Many people would prefer to avoid the MS store.

Already tried. They want nothing to do with it.

I setup the store page and submitted the binary and they said they can't allow it.

They claimed it was a game mod and that's not allowed on Steam.

To be honest I would rather ship on Steam the the MS store.

I would like to know what Wallpaper Engine is then...

Umm then how does it reach Windows 7 customers?

(what about Epic games/gog games)

I didn't try Epic and GOG.

For Steam I paid the $100 self-publishing fee and set everything up. When I submitted my binary they blocked it.

They used to allow any type of app. Their policy at the moment is only game production tools (audio/video/imaging) are allowed. At least that's what they told me.

I'll try GOG and EPIC, but I suspect it'll be the same.

That's BS. Steam's software category is full of apps that aren't game production tools, such as this: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1812620/DSX/
They even allow Retroarch.
This has to be a mistake. Is there no way to appeal?

I had problems contacting support after that. It kept redirecting to my personal Steam account.

Just tried it on Firefox it worked there.

Mailed them, now just have to wait and see.

I wonder if there's been a very recent change in policy since the whole Dolphin emulator kerfuffle (https://www.theverge.com/2023/6/1/23745772/va … or-steam-emails).
Maybe they are now having allergic reactions to the word emulator.

When you talk to them, don't use the word "Emulator" at all.

When I setup the name Dolphin was listed under coming soon.

Also they insisted RReady was a game mod and that's not allowed. That's why I appended Emulator to the name.

Just went through the setup on GOG. Had to submit a video along with details.

I don't know if they've changed their mind, but last I checked the effort was abandoned: https://dolphin-emu.org/blog/2023/07/20/what- … lphin-on-steam/

Tell steam it's a compatibility layer/software, and that it doesn't modify any game files. I mean, I haven't followed your work closely; it doesn't change game files or settings, right?

It doesn't. It pastes three files to games so that they read the file, that's it. I wonder if it's possible to follow what RetroArch did.

Hey Guys

Is RReady availble for sale on the Windows store? I did enable purchases, but someone told me it's listed as "Share" instead of "Buy."

[EDIT]
OK, that's on mobile.
