I have a DELL 7000 Inspiron retro laptop (300MHz PII CPU), and when I invoke MS-DOS (under Win98) I get no mouse. Therefore I tried using Phil's Computer Lab's easy MS-DOS mode, but the CTMOUSE locks up the system.
I have tried the CTMOUSE /S mode to force the serial mode, and although the system no longer locks up, the mouse is still NOT activated.
Pure DOS 7.1 is out of the question because the laptop's built-in ESS2 sound card does not have DOS support, so I have to use MS-DOS under Win98 mode only.
1) How can I use CTMOUSE under Win98's MS-DOS mode?
2) Are there any other solutions (besides CTMOUSE), to enable mouse under Win98's MS-DOS?
Many thanks again!
