So not sure if this is the right spot; but I'm having some weird issues running certain games in windows 98SE with both a PIII 1Ghz 768MB RAM and a P4 2.8Ghz 1GB RAM machine.
On the PIII machine with the Voodoo 5:
No One Lives Forever: constant frame slowdowns @1024x768
Operation Flashpoint @800x600 or 1024x768 unplayable single digit framerate and freezing/CTD
Quake II: runs well with occasional slowdowns @1024x768 and @1280x960
Quake III: runs well with occasional slowdowns @1024x768
Rainbow Six Rogue SpearP: runs, but has constant horrible frame drops @1024x768
Soldier of Fortune: runs but has horrible frame drops @1024x768
Star Wars Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight (1997): Runs fantastic @1024x768 and 1280x1024 with Glide with occasional /rare drops
Unreal: Runs with occasional slowdowns @1024x768
On the P4 machine with Voodoo 5:
Operation Flashpoint @800x600 or 1024x768 unplayable single digit framerate and freezing/CTD
Rainbow Six Rogue SpearP: freezes
Rune: Runs well @1024x768
Quake III: runs well @1024x768 and @1280x960
Soldier of Fortune: freezes
Star Trek Elite Force: Runs well @1024x768
Unreal: Runs well @1024x768 and @1280x1024
On the P4 machine with Nvidia Geforce 6800GT:
Operation Flashpoint: Runs and then freezes about 2 minutes in on low settings @800x600
I have tried both the original Voodoo 5 drivers from the CD as well as the 1.04.01-beta driver.
Any help/insight would be appreciated.
Here is what I got for performance in a couple of the games that worked.
