Hi,
I was rebuilding a S7 system and often found answers to my questions in this forum so I registered myself to get answers I couldn't find on the Internet.
I'm currently running a K6-IIIE+ 400MHz on a DFI K6BV3+, sadly Rev A1 so no voltage below 2V. The CPU is rated for 1.6V, overclocked to 550MHz and cooled by a Socket A cooler I scavenged from a 1.6GHz Sempron, if Everest is right at about 37°C. Everest also tells me the VCore is about 2.5V but I've read it always shows this in this board no matter what is set. However it is set to 2V and I've ran this system only for short durations. Is it safe for longer or do I risk to fry the CPU?
Should I play it safe, get a CPU that's comfortable with 2V and try to get another board that supports 1.6V? I've also seen adaptors to upgrade older S7 boards but no idea where to get one in germany.
Thanks in advance!
best regards
