1. Format
Its a NTSC only! Use just NTSC discs and TV-out in NTSC format only

2. Connectors
Back (from top to down): SVHS, composite TV-out (NTSC), analog audio (ch. 1), analog audio (ch. 2), digital audio (AC-3)
PCB audio - usual audio-output (with the channels on sides and two grouns in the middle). You can use CDROM audio cable for connection to your audiocard.
PCB feature connector - first 26 pins for 8-bits feature connector cards/cables (ATI, S3), first 34 pins for 16-bits feature connector/cables (S3). For 16-bits mode connection you can use 34-pin floppy cable WITOUT twist!
PCB connectors pins AFTER the 34-pin are unknown, maybe for “multimedia cases” connection or specialized videocard(s).

3. Windows and videocards compatibility
This TOSHIBA DVD DECODER is compatible with Windows 95, Windowd 98, Windows Me and Windows 2000.
Windows 95 req’s external drivers and proprietary TOSHIBA DVD player (picture IS ALWAYS INTERLACED on computer monitor)!
Windows 98 - 2000 has internal drivers and DVD player compatible with this decoder. Optimal functional and qualitity results achieved with Windows 98.
It req’s videocard with working digital overlay thru feature connector and VPM drives support (ATI Rage||, S3 Virge/DX 375 officialy supported, ATI Rage Pro and S3 Virge 325 compatible too with no warranty of work).

4. Optimal PC configuration
This cards are best for Intel 430HX or 430TH motherboards with Intel Pentium (MMX) CPU, Yamaha ISA 7XX series sound card and S3 Virge/DX or ATI RageII series of videocard. It works “out-the-box” with Intel TC430HX, AN430TX series of motherboards (with onboad S3/ATI videocards and Yamaha soundcards).

Its a Toshiba proprietary app. Nothing like Windows DVD player and its functionality.

So I imagine the hardware is used as originally supposed to with all the features and not simply working like I'd expect on such old decoder. Good card indeed.
