Hey guys,
I've recently upgraded my 386 workstation machine with a new board that doesn't have bad traces and battery corrosion everywhere. 😀
It's a Micronics Baby Gemini 386 board https://theretroweb.com/motherboards/s/micron … 9-00086-xx#cpus with an AM386 DXL-40 + Cyrix Fasmath FPU.
I'm having an issue where floppies can't be read, neither 3 1/2" or 5 1/4", on a number of different Super IO ISA cards (based on different chip-sets) and different floppy drives, trying both 3 1/2" and 5 1/4" to be thorough.
When testing with a known working drive, it's very slow. I've included a sound byte of a "slow" seek to illustrate. In either case "Data error reading drive A" appears when attempting to read from the drive in DOS, or "diskette error" when attempting to boot from the BIOS.
Otherwise the boards seems to be working fine.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I've also included screenshots of the BIOS POST and SETUP screens.
Warm regards.
