Hi.

I got an asterisk sign during bios post, at the line of CPU info;

(CPU1: *Intel...)

Any clue what that means? Is there anything I should worry about? CPU settings are all default (auto) values in BIOS. No overclocking/manual settings.

Thanks.

Hello.

You shouldn't worry about that if the CPU works fine after POST. Depending on the motherboard BIOS, the CPU name will look slightly different during POST.

Hello again,

Thanks a lot. Got few more old PCs/motherboards and I've never seen such sign before, from none of them, and I thought that it (*) must be a sign of error/warning..

Since it shows CPU1, I wonder if the BIOS supports SMP, even if the board doesn't, and the * indicates the default CPU? I found a picture of an SMP boot on the Award Medallion BIOS here:https://www.askwoody.com/forums/users/dave3283/replies/ which shows CPU2 with a *.

Very interesting and good details.

There isn't any SMP settings in BIOS, here..
But good point.
