I gave it a quick run. Very much a hack, but a nice hack. Intro/Menu screens were low-res. Game also started in low-res (small window in the center of screen), but jumped to full-screen when I resized (+ on the numeric keypad) the window. What I saw looked very nice. Much easier on the eyes, especially in big, open areas.
