I've rediscovered an old favourite - castle adventure

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castle_Adventure

But I've been having trouble getting it to run at an appropriate speed (either monsters move and attack way too fast or movement is painfully slow).

So my question is - what is the appropriate amount of moslo to use, in order to get back to original IBM PC speeds? I'd assume just dividing the 133 MHz down as a percentage wouldn't be bang on, due to architectural improvements, more cache, etc.

Normally I wouldn't bother asking, but I suspect a few people might have the exact same hardware as me - a 486sp3 running an amd 5x86 133

Try the game out anyway - it's fun! A roguelike both with personality and without statistics.

Well, that would be the easy way wouldn't it? I want the hard way!

Disable L1 and L2 caches and depress the turbo button.
