hello, I've been playing Heavy Gear since 1997, and since then i've gotten a new computer. it wont run on my computer, and DOXBox doesn't support it. i've re-formatted several times (not on account of the game) so it's not installed, and when i try to install it, it says

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. This system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose "close" to terminate program.

is there any way to install and play this game, or am i out of luck?

In addition to the above Activision recommends the following:
Set compatibility settings to 640*480 and 256 colors

Heavy Gear is a windows game. It does run under XP, tho I seem to remember there being issues with the cd audio.
Hmm. I wanna play it now. 😀

Heavy Gear apparently runs under windows XP, however I got a few bugs. First, the terrain graphics become garbled. (Not such a big deal.) Secondly, Whenever I move my gear and then try to stop, it wont come to a complete stop. This is a critical bug, which may have something to do with XP. I actually just tried to run this game under Virtual PC running windows 98. The game will not run at all what so ever under Virtual PC.

Anyone been able to get this game to run under XP or virtual PC running windows 98?
