Hi, I have got a Expertboard 4045 (with Intel 486DX4), this motherboard have a BIOS version 2.2 (Award 2.50).

I have seen improved bios versions for this board, especially solving the 2GB hard drive limit and I would like to be able to try them.

I guess I will need on the one hand EPROMS and on the other hand a recorder for these EPROMs, What EPROMs should I buy for this board and what recorder for them?

Thank you.

Use AWDFLASH. Put the program and BIOS on a floppy.

AWDFLASH.EXE BIOS.BIN /PY /CC /CD /CP

You might want to remove sticker and see what type of ROM is that - EPROM or EEPROM (Electrically erasable) . There might as well be a full ROM chip model. EPROM has a transparent window to erase with UV lamp. There's many EEPROM chips with exact pinout as counterpart EPROMs.
Xegu T48 programmer is universal, but there might be cheaper solutions for old chips.

Thank you for us replies.

I I don't want to touch the original eprom on the board, that's why I want to do the external process on another eprom. What model of eprom should I buy or where can I get them?

at first i thought 'write' as in 'write the code' but i guess with binary that can be flashed it's possible to 'hack' things a little anyway, maybe there's a thread about that too 😀
