I've spent quite some time trying to locate a DOS RAM test program that will work on a 286 and test XMS as well. Anyone knows a program like that other than CHECKIT ?
There are plenty for 386+ machines , 286 is tricky 🤣

This is really weird, I have 2 mobos with the HT12 Headland chipset and different ram installed. Every memtest program I tried just freezes the system , just like the chipset detection program that "The Last Byte" memory manager has. Other than that everything runs fine though.
possible NDIAGS (Norton Diagnostics) can help...
Weird, I've run memtest on a V20 so it's not that it needs 386+.

Wondering if anyone found another memory tester. I too just got a HT12 based motherboard with a 16MHz 286 and checkit and a few other memory test programs just lock the computer up.
There is a collection of benchmarks and utilities distributed in a package called "Bench_XT" Most of them should run also on plain x86 CPUs.
MEMSPEED by A. Fominih should work on a 286.
